What does not work without JavaScript
This version of VEIL renders every page on the server and loads no scripts at all, so it works in Tor Browser at the Safest security level. A few features genuinely need code running in your browser; they are listed here rather than left to fail silently.
- DeFi & Bridge. The cross-chain widget is a third-party application that runs entirely in the browser. Use the full version for it.
- Wallet sign-in. Signing a login challenge happens inside MetaMask, Phantom or WalletConnect, which are browser extensions. Sign in with an email address or a login code instead.
- Live notifications. Nothing can be pushed to a page that runs no code. Order pages reload themselves at a fixed interval instead.
- Live rate updates. Quotes are fetched when a page loads and refresh only when you reload or continue.
- Copy buttons. Addresses, amounts and codes are shown in read-only fields — tapping one selects the whole value.
- The typing indicator in support chat. New messages appear when the conversation panel reloads.
- Web fonts and vector icons. Tor Browser at the Safest level blocks both, so this version uses your system font and plain text labels.
Everything else — swaps, buy/sell, crypto cards, AnonPay, AML checks, your account and support chat — works here in full.
Switching between versions
Your choice is remembered in a cookie named veil_ui. Arriving over the Tor mirror selects this version automatically unless you ask for the full one.
